Description

Crispy breaded chicken topped with marinara sauce and melted mozzarella cheese, served over a bed of spaghetti for a classic Italian meal.

Ingredients

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • Cooked spaghetti, for serving
  • Fresh basil leaves, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Pound chicken breasts to even thickness, about 1/2 inch.
  3. Season chicken with salt and pepper. Dredge in flour, dip into beaten eggs, then coat with breadcrumb and Parmesan mixture.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry chicken until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  5. Place chicken in a baking dish. Top with marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese.
  6. Bake for 20 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Serve over cooked spaghetti and garnish with fresh basil.
